OUR MINISTRIES

MISSIONS & OUTREACH

MISSIONS

We believe our mission is to participate in God's mission to restore Creation and draw people to Christ through ministries of love
and reconciliation in our community. Through these ministries and partnerships, our members have the opportunity to become
the living presence of Christ in someone’s life.

Turning Points

Providing, facilitating and coordinating services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in Manatee County.  The Open Door Day Resource Center provides a variety of services to registered clients to assist them with improving their living situations, helping them move along a path of stability toward independence. Services range from access to continental breakfast, hot showers, and free clothing to obtaining legal documents and public assistance. â€‹

Volunteer Needs

There are many volunteers currently serving this mission, but financial support continues to be their deepest need. Contact Kari Collins, executive director, at rbm@rbmission.org for more information or to make a donation.

Anchor House

The Anchor House mission is to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of international seafarers. Anchor House is a faith-based organization that is supported by donations of faithful people all over Manatee County as well as nearby counties. They are reaching out to the seafarers of the world through Port Manatee with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The seafarers come to Anchor House in need of supplies, internet connections (to contact their families) and counseling. They are given Bibles in their own languages.

Volunteer Needs

Anchor House is especially in need of volunteers to drive the seafarer's van. Drivers will take seafarers to Walmart to shop in the early evening. Small teams or couples are needed to come during the day to greet seafarers, clean, and prepare meals. For more information, contact Tim Huppert at tim@anchorhousemission.com.

Agape Flights

Agape Flights provides excellent aviation services delivering cargo, mail and humanitarian aid to missionary partners serving Christ, carrying hope to the nations of the Caribbean. Agape Flights equips over 300 missionaries by delivering their mail, keeping them in touch with families, supporters and sending organizations. They connect missionaries to professional services, volunteers who shop for them, sponsors of mission projects, and disaster relief efforts.

Habitat for Humanity

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. They have chosen to manifest God's love by creating opportunities for all people to live in decent, durable homes. Recently, four new homes have been completed in Manatee County and they are presently working to complete three more homes in the Village of the Arts. Investing in new homes, along with neighborhood revitalization efforts by residents and community organizations, is transforming the area and improving the quality of life for all.

Volunteer Needs

Manatee volunteers assist in all areas including construction, ReStore and general operations. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for ages 16 and up, according to matching interests and availability.
