Greetings in the name of our Lord!
I pray you all enjoyed lovely Christmas celebrations of Jesus’ birth. Happy New Year to you as we finally bid 2020 farewell.
Now that the new year is here, it’s also a great time to begin reading the Bible in a year with me, based on a chronological Bible reading plan that puts the Scriptures in order by date. Some books of the Bible stay basically in the same place but others move significantly, for example, Job. Each month the reading plan for that month will be in the Newsletter. You can use the Bible you usually do, there’s no need to buy another Bible. I have never read the Bible in this order. I am looking forward to the insights it will provide.
As we look at the coming months, I’ll begin a preaching series on the life and teachings of Jesus on January 17th. As you may have already noticed, Ash Wednesday is one month later on February 17th, the Lenten preaching series begins February 21st and Easter is April 4th.
During Lent, I’ll be leading two Bible Studies:
1) Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom beginning February 16, 2021;
2) Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. on Zoom beginning February 17, 2021.
I’ll be choosing the book soon. Look for it in an upcoming Wednesday Word.
As you likely know, the case numbers for COVID-19 throughout Florida are as high as in July. Therefore, I want you to know that the Worship Restart Team will continue to monitor the numbers.
In the meantime, I rely on each of us to wear a mask, remain socially distant from each other and refrain from congregational singing or responses. God is with us. We will get through this together!
With love in Christ,
Pastor Kim
